Elegant Mountain-Side Wedding, New Zealand - Mandy and Wilson
Talk about a couple keeping it cool. Mandy and Wilson spent their wedding day flying over the Southern Alps in a helicopter before joining their closest loved ones for an intimate ceremony amongst the mountains. This couple from Sydney chose Queenstown, the larger-than-life landscapes matching their sense of adventure and small town vibes intimate enough for their closest circle.
The day began at Kamana Lakehouse. Here, the couple prepared in spacious, sunlit suites. The view of Lake Wakatipu was stunning. Their morning included a mix of bold, stylish portraits and quiet, natural moments. The perfect calm before heading skyward to find the perfect peak.
Next, they boarded a helicopter from Heliworks. Fur coats and cool shades intact, we searched above the cloud line for the right spot. Low clouds kept us from landing at Coromandel Peak. However, as we flew over the Southern Alps, a beautiful snow-covered ridge appeared. The expert pilots landed the heli on some fresh snow and Mandy and Wilson climbed out to find a place to exchange vows. Surrounded by tall mountains, they shared heartfelt promises, with one friend as a witness. The blue sky creating a bright contrast against the white peaks. After intimate portraits, a few hero shots in the snow and a cheerful champagne toast, we took the helicopter back to Queenstown.
The ceremony continued at 7 Mile Reserve, a lovely lakeside spot. Here, 20 close family members gathered to honour Mandy and Wilson’s love. Later, the reception was back at Kamana Lakehouse. Simply Perfect Weddings made sure every detail was elegant. With Andrew Bell officiating, Liv King working on hair, and Olivia Sellman creating a radiant bridal look, everything came together. The day combined a sense of luxury with adventure, truly capturing the spirit and aesthetic of a Queenstown wedding.
